Matrox Drivers Installation for Imager Version 5.5 and Below
Note: This version of Matrox Drivers is for Imager version 5.5 and below only. Click here if your Imager version is 5.6 or above.
Vascular Imager uses a frame grabber board manufactured by
Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd. The frame grabber software
driver is provided by Matrox and redistributed by MIA, when
and only when the Vascular Imager and the frame grabber hardware
board is shipped by MIA.
If you have the Vascular Imager installed and functioning,
you already have the Matrox drivers installed and functioning.
The reasons you may decide to update the frame grabber driver:
- Driver defects (bugs) may be resolved by the frame grabber
manufacturer.
- Performance/reliability may be improved in newer versions.
Vascular Imager shall be compatible with the newer versions
of the frame grabber drivers - however please contact MIA
before you decide to upgrade. The driver is a 3rd-party product.
The most recent version of the driver is 7.5:
MeteorII-75.zip
File size: 37MB. Directory size after de-compression:
60MB.
Required WinZip utility program to de-compress the ZIP
file.
Steps to download the driver version 7.5:
- Make sure the computer has at least 100 MB free disk space
for the download file.
- Click on the above MeteorII-75.zip file and select to
save on a hard disk.
Steps to install the driver version 7.5:
- Un-zip (de-compress) the above zip file.
- Read the installation instruction file, MIL-7.5-Install.pdf,
also available on the un-zipped directory.
- Confirm that a previous version of the driver is un-installed.
- Run the installation program, Setup.exe, from the un-zipped
directory.
- Follow on-screen instructions and the step-by-step installation
instruction described in MIL-7.5-Install.pdf 3. Frame Grabber and SoftwareTechnical Infor
Reboot the computer at the end of the installation when prompted.

How to Check Functional Status of the Frame Grabber
and Driver
Windows system can display the functional status of the Matrox
frame grabber and driver.
The steps to check the status:
- Go to the “Control Panel” from “Start”
-> “Control Panel”.
- Click on the “System” icon.
- On the “System Properties” pop-up, click on
the “Hardware” tab.
- Click on the “Device Manager” button.
- On the “Device Manager” pop-up, look for the
“Matrox Imaging Adapter” on the list.
- When found, click on the “+” icon to expand
to show “meteor_II PCI Frame Grabber”.
If the hardware and driver is functional there will be no
yellow "!" or red "x" icon attached.
Double click on the “meteor_II PCI Frame Grabber”
icon will bring up the detail status window display.
How to Uninstall the Software Driver for the Frame
Grabber
You may need to uninstall the software driver for the Matrox
frame grabber under some unusual conditions.
The steps to uninstall the software driver for the Matrox
frame grabber:
- Go to the "Control Panel" from the "Start"
menu -> "Control Panel".
- Click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
- Look for the "Matrox Imaging Products" on the
"Currently installed program" list.
- Click on the "Change/Remove" button next to
the "Matrox Imaging Products" item to uninstall.
