Specifications - Brachial and Carotid
Analyzer (Clinical and Research Versions)
| Image Data and Measurement
|
The Analyzer software performs measurements on the ultrasound
images. Image data can be individual ultrasound images (single-frame
images), or ultrasound image sequences (clips). Analyzer reads
the images but does not alter the original image data in any
way.

Supported input image formats:
- DICOM Ultrasound (Compatible with GE, Acuson, Toshiba,
Siemens, ATL, HP, and Terason, etc.)
- RAW (single- or multiple-frame image data acquired from
Vascular Imager)
- AVI
- Bitmap, JPEG, TIFF.
- CRI
- HP/Agilent/Philips DSR-TIFF
Supported ultrasound machines:
All ultrasound machines are supported. Various models from
the following vendors are tested:
- General Electric
- Acuson
- Toshiba
- Siemens
- ATL
- HP/Agilent/Philips
- Terason
- SonoSite
Supported output report file formats:
- Microsoft Word (clinical version, see a sample of the IMT report with the vascular age estimates).
- Microsoft Excel File (see a sample)
- Text File that can be imported to an SAS package (see
a sample)
Customizable report content: what to report and what not
to report.
Analyzer is not a fully automatic measurement mean that would
generate measurement results without human interaction.
Analyzer is a measurement tool that assist human in analyzing
Brachial or Carotid ultrasound images. Analyzer is:
- Accurate - more accurate in capturing details than human.
- Automated - human interaction is minimized. Majority of
the analysis tediousness are eliminated through automation.
- Reliable - built-in quality control identifies and minimize
the impacts from imaging artifacts.
- Interactive - friendly user interface design, easy to
navigate, review, and configure.
Study of an image or an image sequence can be saved into
an Analyzer Study File.
Analyzer Study File stores complete information regarding
the analysis session of a particular image data, such as input
image name and location, region of interest, subject and study
information, as well as complete measurement results.
Once saved, the study file can be opened by the Analyzer
program, thus giving you access to the complete analysis session
at any time. Possible usage: resume an unfinished analysis;
review a previous study; or generate a different report.
Multiple study files can be grouped into a Subject File.
Subject File can be directly opened in the Analyzer to allow
easy access of all studies associated with this subject. Report
can be generated for the entire subject, in Microsoft Excel
format, combining and summarizing each individual studies
(see a sample).
